Overgrown Or Neglected?
Garden Clearance in Lincoln
Searching for garden clearance near you? We clear overgrown gardens across Lincoln and Lincolnshire from scratch: brambles, waist-high grass, fly-tipped rubbish, the lot, then leave it tidy and mowable.
Most garden clearance jobs in Lincoln cost £500 to £900, depending on size and how heavy the green-waste load is. We quote a fixed price after a quick site visit or photos, no surprises on the invoice.
When people call us for garden clearing services
Four jobs make up most of the garden clearing services we run in Lincoln. Void and end-of-tenancy clearances, where a garden has gone a full tenancy without a cut and needs to be lettable again. Probate and house-sale clearances, where a garden needs to be presentable for photos and viewings. Overgrown resets, where brambles, ivy and self-seeded saplings have taken a plot back over a few seasons. And fly-tipping and rubbish removal, where the growth is fine but the garden has become a dumping ground.
A clearance is a one-off reset, not a maintenance visit. We cut everything back to a level a mower can handle, strip out the rubbish and debris, and hand the garden back in a state you can either keep on top of yourself or put on a monthly plan. If the plot has been left several years, or there is genuine tree work involved, we will say so at quote stage rather than discover it on the day.
How long does a garden clearance take?
A typical Lincoln back garden clears in one to two days with a two-person team. Larger plots, heavy bramble or multiple van loads of waste can run to three days. We book clearances in as whole days rather than hourly, so the crew stays until that stage is finished instead of leaving the job half done and returning next week.
Hedges Blocking The Light?
Hedge Trimming & Hedge Reduction in Lincoln
Hedge trimming in Lincoln keeps a hedge at its current size and shape, usually once or twice a year. Hedge reduction takes an overgrown hedge back down in height and width, which is a bigger, one-off job. We do both, and all cuttings leave with us.
Real LWR Job
Boundary hedge trimmed level and shaped, cuttings gone the same day.
What's Covered
- Routine hedge trimming, shaping and topping
- Hedge reduction on overgrown conifer, laurel and privet
- Boundary hedges cut back off paths, drives and neighbours
- Shrubs and small ornamental trees cut back to size
- All cuttings collected and removed, no bags left behind
- Licensed waste carrier, cuttings disposed of legally
When is the best time to cut a hedge?
For most Lincoln gardens, late summer into early autumn is the safe window for a proper cut, with a lighter tidy in late spring if the hedge is fast-growing. Nesting birds are protected by law between roughly March and August, so we check a hedge before cutting in that period and will delay or work around an active nest rather than push on. Conifers such as leylandii are the exception worth flagging: cut back into old brown wood and they do not regrow, so a reduction has to stop at the green growth.
What hedge trimming costs in Lincoln
Hedge work is quoted per job, not per hour. A single domestic hedge trim usually falls inside a one-off visit from £150, and a full reduction on a long or badly overgrown boundary is priced closer to clearance rates because of the volume of waste. Height, length, access down the side of the property and how far the cuttings have to be carried are what actually move the number. If you are already on a monthly plan from £90, routine hedge and shrub trims are built into the visits.
One honest limit: we trim and reduce hedges, shrubs and small ornamental trees. We do not fell mature trees or carry out surgery on anything that needs a qualified arborist, and we will point you to one rather than take it on.

Most PopularKeep On Top Of It
Regular Garden Maintenance in Lincoln

Autumn
The big tidy.

Winter
Structure jobs.
Fence repairs, storm tidy-ups and the quiet-season jobs, already inside the plan rather than quoted as extras.
How often does a garden need maintaining?
Through the growing season, April to October, most Lincoln gardens want a visit every two to four weeks. Grass in May and June can put on enough growth in a fortnight to need a second pass, which is why a monthly cycle is the practical middle ground for most gardens and a six-weekly cycle suits smaller or lower-growth plots. Over winter the garden needs far less, so a plan usually drops to a tidy-up visit or two rather than charging for cuts the lawn does not need.
Searching for garden maintenance near me?
We run maintenance rounds across Lincoln and the surrounding villages, including North Hykeham, Nettleham, Washingborough, Cherry Willingham, Branston, Bracebridge Heath, Waddington, Skellingthorpe and Saxilby, and out to Gainsborough, Sleaford, Newark and Grantham. Because the visits are scheduled as a round rather than booked one at a time, gardens close together get more consistent dates and a better price than one-off call-outs.

Straight Answer On Money
Gardening Services Lincoln Prices
Gardening services in Lincoln start from £150 for a one-off visit, from £90 a month on a regular plan, and £500 to £900 for a full garden clearance. Every figure below includes VAT and is fixed in writing before we start.
One-Off Visit
From £150
A day on site. Mow, trim, weed and tidy, waste taken away.
Monthly Plan
From £90
Scheduled visits year round. Landlord Group members from £75.
Garden Clearance
£500 to £900
Full overgrown reset, one to three days, all waste removed.
What Actually Moves The Price
Garden Size
The single biggest factor. A small courtyard and a half-acre plot are different jobs with the same job title.
How Overgrown
Three weeks past a cut is a visit. Three seasons past a cut is a clearance, priced completely differently.
Green Waste Volume
Disposal is a real cost for a licensed carrier. Two van loads of bramble beats a bag of clippings.
Access
Through the house, up a shared alley or behind a locked gate takes longer to load out than a driveway and side gate.
One-Off vs Regular
A scheduled round is cheaper per visit than a call-out, and the garden never gets far enough gone to need rescuing.
Extras On Top
Fencing repairs, jet-washing, turf or shed removal are quoted as their own line, never a vague day rate.
How we quote it
Send photos or let us walk the garden, and you get an itemised written quote inside 24 hours with the scope spelled out line by line. There is no call-out fee, no hourly guesswork and no day-rate padding. The number you sign off is the number on the invoice, and if we find something on the day that genuinely changes the job, we stop and tell you before carrying on rather than adding it at the end. Nobody can quote a garden properly from a postcode, which is why our prices start from a figure rather than sitting on a fixed list.
Before You Call
Three Questions
Everyone Asks.
Question 01
Can you handle a really overgrown garden?
Yes. Brambles, knee-high grass, fly-tipped rubbish, the lot. Most clearance and reset jobs land between £500 and £900 depending on size and how heavy the green-waste load is. We're a licensed waste carrier so it all leaves with us legally.
Question 02
How quickly can you start?
Quote back inside 24 hours, work normally starts the same week. Monthly plans we slot into the next available visit cycle. Urgent jobs (viewings, check-outs, inspections) we'll prioritise.
Question 03
What does monthly maintenance cover?
From £90 per month. Lawn mow and edging, hedge and shrub trims, border weeding, path and patio clearing, general tidy and before-and-after photos every visit. Set it and forget it.

Common Questions
Garden FAQs
A standard overgrown garden clearance in Lincoln, cutting back, removing waste, and leaving it tidy, typically costs £500 to £900 depending on size and condition. Heavily overgrown plots, tree work, or skip hire can add to this. We quote fixed prices after a site visit or photos.
A gardener in Lincoln typically costs from £150 for a one-off visit or from £90 a month on a regular plan with LWR Group, covering lawn mowing, hedge trimming, weeding and general tidying. Larger jobs like a full garden clearance run £500 to £900. We give a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts, so there's no hourly guesswork.
Hedge trimming in Lincoln is quoted per job rather than per hour. A single domestic hedge trim usually sits inside a one-off visit from £150, while a full hedge reduction on a long or badly overgrown boundary is priced closer to clearance rates because of the volume of cuttings to remove. Height, length, access down the side of the property and how far the waste has to be carried are what move the price. Routine hedge and shrub trims are included on monthly plans from £90.
Hedge trimming keeps a hedge at roughly its current size and shape, usually once or twice a year, and produces a manageable amount of waste. Hedge reduction takes an overgrown hedge back down in height and width, which is a bigger one-off job with far more material to remove. Height is worth watching: under gov.uk high hedge rules, a neighbour can complain to the council about a line of 2 or more mostly evergreen trees or shrubs over 2 metres tall. We carry out both across Lincoln and Lincolnshire, and all cuttings leave with us as a licensed waste carrier.
Late summer into early autumn is the safe window for a full hedge cut in Lincolnshire, with a lighter tidy in late spring for fast-growing hedges. Nesting birds are protected by law from roughly March to August, so we check a hedge before cutting during that period and will delay or work around an active nest. Conifers such as leylandii are worth flagging separately: cut back into old brown wood and they do not regrow, so a reduction has to stop at the green growth.
Six things decide where a gardening job lands: garden size, how overgrown it is, the volume of green waste to remove, access to the garden, whether it is a one-off visit or a regular round, and any extras like fencing repairs or jet-washing. That is why prices start from £150 for a one-off, from £90 a month for a regular plan and £500 to £900 for a full clearance rather than sitting on a fixed list. All figures include VAT and we quote a fixed price in writing inside 24 hours.
Yes. Garden maintenance is one of our core services for landlords and letting agents. We can carry out one-off clearances between tenancies or set up a regular maintenance schedule to keep the garden in lettable condition throughout the year.
Most rental gardens benefit from maintenance every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season (April to October) and a single tidy-up in autumn. Properties left unattended for a full tenancy can accumulate 2 to 3 seasons of growth — we clear these for void turnarounds and can set up ongoing contracts.
No. We focus on soft landscaping and grounds maintenance: lawns, hedges, borders, clearances and regular garden upkeep. We don't lay patios, driveways, decking or artificial grass ourselves, but if your project needs hard landscaping we're happy to point you to a trusted local specialist, and we can keep the finished garden maintained afterwards.
Monthly garden maintenance in Lincoln starts from £90 per month with LWR Group, covering regular lawn mowing and edging, hedge and shrub trims, border weeding and a general tidy on every visit, with all green waste removed by a licensed carrier. The exact price depends on garden size, and Landlord Group members pay from £75 per month.
Yes. We run scheduled monthly grounds maintenance contracts for offices, residential blocks, letting agents and facilities management clients across Lincoln and Lincolnshire: lawns, hedges, borders, communal grounds and car park areas, quoted as a fixed monthly price after a site visit. See our commercial grounds maintenance page for the full commercial service.
Most gardens need attention every 2 to 4 weeks through the growing season (April to October) and a tidy-up visit or two over winter. A monthly maintenance visit is the sweet spot for keeping lawns, hedges and borders presentable year round without paying for work the garden doesn't need, which is why our monthly plan from £90 is the most popular option.
If you've searched for garden maintenance near me, we cover Lincoln and the wider Lincolnshire area including North Hykeham, Nettleham, Washingborough, Gainsborough, Newark, Sleaford, Grantham, and surrounding villages. Most jobs are within 45 minutes of Lincoln city centre.
